Painting of American forces of the 10th Pennsylvania Volunters awaiting orders from Gen. Arthur MacArthur (standing with binoculars) to move forward towards Filipino positions in Caloocan. Faced with the superior forces of the Americans, the Filipinos suffered immediate setback right at the beginning of the war. In this early encounter, the Filipino forces were commanded by Gen. Antonio Luna.
